The free invoice generator at freeinvoiceautomation.com/generator makes a professional PDF invoice with no sign-up. It runs entirely in your browser: your business details, your client's details and every line you type stay on your device. It is built for the moment you need one invoice now, and the goal is a finished PDF in under 90 seconds.
If you later create an account, the invoices you made in the generator move into it once, so you never type them again.
What you can do
In the generator you can:
- enter your business details and your client's details;
- add lines with quantity and unit price, plus taxes and discounts;
- pick the currency;
- watch a live preview update as you type;
- download the finished invoice as a PDF.
Totals are calculated in your browser by the same money engine the signed-in app uses, in integer minor units, so the numbers on your PDF are exactly what the app would produce. The PDF is made with the same templates as the app, so it looks the same as an invoice sent from an account.
How your data is stored
The generator is local-first. Everything you enter is saved in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB) on this device.
- Nothing goes to our servers. No network request carries your invoice data while you create, preview or download. We test this on every release.
- Your work is kept between visits. Close the tab or the browser and come back to
/generatoron the same device and browser: your documents are still there. - It stays on this device. Another browser, another computer or a private window does not see it. Clearing your browser's site data for freeinvoiceautomation.com removes it.
Because nothing is stored on our side, we cannot recover generator documents for you. If you clear your browser data before signing up, they are gone. Download the PDF of anything you need to keep.

Open the generator
Go to freeinvoiceautomation.com/generator. No sign-in or email is asked for.
Fill in who and what
Enter your business details and your client's details, then add your lines: description, quantity and unit price. Add tax and a discount if you need them and choose the currency.
Check the preview
The preview on the page updates with every change, so you can see the invoice exactly as it will look.
Download the PDF
Download the PDF and send it to your client in any way you like.
Clean by design
The generator and the PDFs it makes carry no ads, affiliate links or sponsors. A generator PDF shows a small "Powered by Free Invoice Automation" line, as every Free plan document does.
Generator PDFs have no verification QR code, because there is no stored document on our side for a client to check against. Invoices sent from an account carry a verification QR that opens a verification page.
Move your invoices into an account
When you create an account, you can bring your generator documents with you.
Sign up or sign in
Start the sign-up from the generator. Use any sign-in method. See Create your account.
Your documents upload once
Back in the generator, your browser reads the documents it saved and uploads them once into your account's first business. Totals are worked out again on our side by the same engine, so nothing changes.
Your browser copy is cleared
When the upload is done, the generator marks the documents as synced and clears them from the browser. From now on they live in your account and you can open them from any device.
The upload is safe to repeat. Each document carries an id your browser created, so if you sign in again on the same browser, nothing is uploaded a second time.
Invoice numbers
You may already have sent a generator PDF with a number you chose yourself. As designed, imported documents keep that number as an external number and do not use up your business's gap-free sequence. New invoices you create in the account then start the business's own sequence. See Document numbering.

Use the generator for a quick one-off. Create a free account as soon as you want to send by email, get paid by card or bank transfer from a pay page, or keep a record you can reach anywhere.
Generate a PDF from code or an AI assistant
The generator has a matching public action, generate_pdf, that needs no account and no API key. Send it the same invoice data plus business and client details and a PDF template key, and it returns the PDF. Nothing is stored.

}'Public calls are limited per IP address and in request size to stop abuse. If you hit the limit you get 429 rate_limited with a Retry-After header. PDFs from generate_pdf always carry the "Powered by Free Invoice Automation" line and have no verification QR.
